Cornwall Is A Great Place To Buy A Family Holiday Home
For many years now, Cornwall has undoubtedly remained one of the UK’s leading holiday destinations, which also makes it one of the country’s most popular locations to purchase a family holiday home.
With an increasing number of families opting to holiday within the UK over the chaos that comes with booking last-minute flights and arranging hotel accommodation to destinations in Europe, many reputable holiday home dealers are now offering caravans for sale to families who are more interested in putting their feet up on home soil this year.
It’s hard for us British not to fall in love with Cornwall. For some of us, it’s the happy memories from a childhood seaside holiday with Mum and Dad; for others, it’s the spot where a teenage holiday romance took place. For many who have visited, it’s a love affair that lasts a lifetime.
CoastlineWith its high cliffs, over 300 sandy beaches, rugged coastline, and hidden coves – and not to mention its famous Cornish Pasties – holidaymakers from all ages and backgrounds keep flocking back to this popular jewel of all British holiday destinations.
Earlier this year, four of Cornwall’s beaches – St. Ives, Newquay, Bude and Padstow – were respectively named the UK’s 4th, 6th, 7th and 10th best beach destinations by reviewers on TripAdvisor®, the world’s largest travel community.
Malcolm Bell, Head of Tourism, VisitCornwall, commented, “Cornwall is an iconic destination where our fantastic beaches are one, if not the major draw, be that to swim, surf, walk on or dine beside. Any visitor will be spoilt for choice with over 300 beaches to visit which would take many years of visits and a lifetime of memories. This latest recognition shows we have real award winning beaches that can stand proud on an international stage.”
Number 1 for staycationsAs a result of the economic climate in recent years, many families have opted for “staycation” holidays (where families choose to spend their leisure time in the UK), instead of giving into the lure of the sun, sea and sand in warmer foreign climes.
In 2008, TripAdvisor® conducted a poll involving over 500 British travellers to discover the best parts of Britain with Cornwall topping its list.
“People who have opted for a ‘staycation’ have the chance to discover what huge diversity of holiday destinations are available in this country,” said Luke Fredberg, Director of Communications, TripAdvisor Europe.
The benefit of caravansWith such an established reputation nationwide, it is no surprise that, increasingly, more and more families in the UK are enjoying the freedom of holiday home ownership. With access to their own private caravan, owners are now able to navigate all over the UK or across the continent at a fraction of the cost. There’s no longer any need to plan and book ahead, as well as no taxis to the airport or hotel costs to consider. Simply pack your bags and step into the comforts of your own holiday home.
