Mother’s Day should not be the only time of year where mums are given the opportunity to relax and be spoilt. It is also important that on a family holiday everybody’s individual needs are met so that every family member has a fantastic time away and mum can have a break as well! At Beaches Resorts, kids are given extra attention with tailor made activities and hangout areas on offer, and supervised kids programs for five different age levels. The resorts fuss over babies and indulge little kids at Kids Camp, and offer state-of-the-art play areas for tweens, cool party areas for teens and great places for parents to be as active, or as languid as they wish while the kids are out of their hands. Suri Cruise (under 5s) :

• While the adults relax and enjoy the great facilities on offer, Beaches professionally trained staff are always on hand to look after the little ones. Parents can be assured that their kids are in safe hands as all Beaches nannies are certified with an accredited US university. In addition to this, the infant to staff ratio in Beaches nurseries is only 3:1 and in all resorts there is a trained nurse on property 24 hours a day. Childcare in resorts is fully included every day from 9am to 6pm and there is even 24 hour nanny care available at an additional fee, should parents require a ‘kid-free’ evening.
• Beaches Resorts have a plethora of fun sights, sounds and activities for tots. As a proud sponsor of Sesame Street, Beaches’ kids are always in good company as the resorts are home to the colourful cast of characters who host various activities throughout the day including ‘Bake with Cookie Monster’, ‘Dance with Zoë’ and ‘Explore with Grover’. The characters are there to turn each moment into a child’s adventure and for a fee, children can even have breakfast with their favourite character or have a spectacular birthday party.
• The Pirate’s Island Water Parks at Beaches Boscobel and Beaches Turks and Caicos also feature a Treasure Isle Aqua-Play area, complete with water cannons and a treasure chest. Beckham Bunch (aged 5-12):

• For creative youngsters, the Crayola Art Camps at Beaches Resorts are ideal. The camps are on-property activity centres where families can unleash their creativity through Caribbean-inspired games and activities using Crayola products.
• The young and young at heart can also play by their own rules in Beaches exclusive Pirates Island, at Beaches Negril Resort & Spa, Beaches Boscobel Resort & Golf Club and Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort & Spa. Here, kids live in a fantasy world filled with gigantic waterslides, kid-friendly pools and swim-up soda bars.
• The recently expanded Pirate’s Island Waterpark at Turks and Caicos is one of the largest in the Caribbean and allows kids to splash about in the new 650 foot lazy river, get wild in the surf, or take the plunge down one or all of the nine twisting and turning waterslides. In addition, the park features a pool and aqua play area complete with water cannons, cranks and spray features, ideal for budding pirates!
• From Banana Boats to kayaking, snorkelling to waterskiing; water sports are another essential element of the fun-filled Beaches Resorts experience. Kids can even take part in one of Beaches Resorts’ tailored scuba-diving courses such as the Bubblemaker, which gives children aged 8 years or above an introduction to scuba skills in a pool with a maximum depth of 2 metres.
• The Beaches National Geographic “Passport to Adventure” scuba programme is a PADI certification course that is available to Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort & Spa guests who are 10 years or older, and the only offering of its kind in the Caribbean. The programme is a four-day intensive course that focuses on learning to explore like an underwater scientist, identifying important aquatic plant and animal species and navigating by using a compass and natural references
• Beaches Resorts also have an array of landsports on offer for children. Those aged 8 – 16 can take part in junior golf school in Jamaica which includes supervised instruction along with play on the course, fun competitions and state of the art technology which allow you to compare your swing to Tiger Woods! Tennis pros are also always on hand at resorts to give lessons to budding Roger Federers or Venus Williams!

Madonna’s Lourdes (teens and pre-teens) :

• Beaches Resorts have introduced a variety of new hangouts and happenings designed to impress even the most laid back teenager. Club Liquid, Beaches Resorts’ exclusive ‘under 21’ aqua-themed nightclub is the perfect party zone for teens. With shimmer and bubble screens, wave-adorned walls and a $150,000 London-designed sound system, Club Liquid is the place for evening teen entertainment.
• Teens can also learn to DJ through Beaches Resorts’ exclusive partnership with the Scratch DJ Academy, founded by the legendary Jam Master Jay of Run DMC. Sessions include scratching, mixing or a combination package of both (available for a nominal fee).

• For adventurous teens who are ready to emerge into the world of diving, the Seal Team programme is a perfect fit. It consists of five, one-hour Aquamissions that can be accomplished in one day or spread out during the length of stay. By completion of the fifth Aquamission, students are able to swim under water with scuba equipment and are awarded with a Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) certification for a confined dive.
