Five fun things to do in Florida with the Kids
Whether you are seeking a family holiday with big thrills or golden beaches. Florida has it all. Known as America’s sunshine state, this holiday hotspot is great for all ages and offers year-round entertainment. Young children will love meeting Mickey at Walt Disney World, teens can enjoy the big thrill rides at Universal and all the family can have a real-life space experience at NASA.
Specialists in Florida holidays, Jetsave.com has discovered five new great things for families to do in Florida with the kids this year:
1) Harry Potter Land Opening in Spring 2010, the new ‘Wizarding World of Harry Potter’ will excite Potter fans across the globe! Inspired from J K Rowling’s stories and characters, this new land at Universal Island’s of Adventure in Orlando will provide visitors with multiple attractions that bring the much-loved books and films to life. 2) Sesame Street Safari of Fun Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay has a new attraction this year called ‘Sesame Street Safari of Fun.’ This child-friendly area will feature all the Sesame Street such as characters including Elmo and Big Bird and celebrates the spirit of Africa. There is a child-friendly rollercoaster, water play , 4-D theatre and musical performances. 3) Astronaut Training A trip to Florida is not complete without a visit to the Kennedy Space Centre. For families with younger children the Family Astronaut Training Program is a great way for all the family to have fun. The whole family will spend two days immersed in astronaut training, riding realistic simulators and building and launching their own rockets. You'll meet a veteran NASA astronaut, explore the Kennedy Space Centre and train and work together to perform a space shuttle mission to the International Space Station in a full-scale orbiter mock-up and fully outfitted mission control. 4) Toy Story 3 The release of Toy Story 3 in 3D is scheduled for June 2010, and Disney will be promoting this with showings of the previous two movies in 3D for a limited time at Disney Hollywood studios at Walt Disney World Resort. 5) Wet 'n' Wild Wet 'n' Wild is one of the most exciting water parks out there! With its has a huge variety of rides ranging from a relaxing lazy river to wild, high-speed body slides it is consistently rated as one of the top waterparks in America. The park heats up for the Spring Break Beach Bash between March 26th and April 10th; with a live DJ, music contests, dancing and prizes there is lots of fun for the entire family. Getting to Florida couldn’t be easier, as flights leave daily from the UK and in just over ten hours you can be in the heart of all the fun. It can be difficult to arrange accommodation for the whole family so one great solution is to rent a Florida villa. Orlando-based homes come with a private pool so kids can cool off from the midday sun and they are just a short drive from the likes of Disney so if you have a ticket allowing unlimited access to the parks you can come and go as you please. The homes are ideal for those on a budget, as they come equipped with a modern kitchen and are near to supermarkets so you can have fun and save money by eating a real American feast indoors!
