Bumpsters introduces multi award winning Snugabub baby sheets to the UK

Bumpsters, the company that brought the innovative cot bar bumper to the UK nursery market, this month introduces another ingeniously simple safe sleeping device for babies - Snugabub baby sheets.

Snugabub baby sheets, like Bumpsters, were invented by a mum who has used her parenting experience to create a product she would have loved to have bought for her own little ones – cot sheets specifically designed for babies.

The design premis behind Snugabub was to make nursery bedding as snug and safe as possible and the resulting concept, like all the best ideas is incredibly simple.

Bespoke baby bedding
Snugabub sheets are designed specifically for babies under the age of one when SIDs risks are at their highest and when baby’s sleep patterns are being established.

Alison Dique, inventor of Snugabub comments: ‘It always struck me as strange that nursery bedding was based largely on adult bedding. Bedding at this precious age needs to be tailored to the very special needs of a new baby.’

Snugabub sheets have been designed with two key aims in mind:
a) to ensure that baby stays in the safe sleeping position – on their backs at the foot of the cot
b) To ensure that bedding stays securely in place to minimise the risk of entanglement and to ensure that baby sleeps soundly for longer

Unique design
Each Snugabub set costs £14.99 and includes three premium quality cotton cot sheets:
1) One top sheet suitable for babies XS (0-6 months) £12.99
2) Small 6-12 months
3) Medium 12 – 24 months

The top sheet in each set is what makes Snugabub so unique. Each top sheet features a fitted end that fits securely over the bottom end of the cot mattress. The rest of the sheet has been designed so that it is baby length rather than cot length. This ingeniously simple design change reduces the risk of entanglement and suffocation in excess bedding and ensures that babies stay in the safest position, with their feet at the foot of the cot.

Another simple design feature on the Snugabub top sheet is its tapered shape, with a slim fitted base broadening out to wide angled sides at the top of the sheet. These wide angled sides allow the top sheet to be kept firmly tucked in under the cot mattress helping baby feel snug and secure through the night.

Longer, more peaceful nights
Anchoring the Snugabub securely under baby’s mattress ensures that the sheet stays firm over their chest so if they stir or startle – which they will do many times a night – they won’t wake themselves fully and can easily soothe themselves back to sleep.

Extensive sleep studies with babies using different baby bedding, have shown that babies sleeping under Snugabub sheets slept for between 20 – 40 mins longer during a day sleep and up to four hours longer at night, as a result of being tucked in so securely.
