Since forming in Dublin back in 1969 Thin Lizzy have achieved legendary status in classic rock circles, and their big hits The Boys Are Back In Town, Whisky In The Jar and Jailbreak are all featured on this unmissable compilation. The band were the pioneers of the hard rock scene in the 70s and 80s and hit the big time with frontman Phil Lynott’s unique songwriting style which combined straight down the line rock with hints of country and folk that are still popular today. This album originally released back in 2004 and was a huge chart smash which has continued to build the Thin Lizzy fanbase worldwide.

Following the now celebrated farewell headline show at Dublin’s Slane Castle, Thin Lizzy disbanded with Lynott and now blues legend Gary Moore launching their own solo careers. For the first time a Lizzy collection brings together not only the band’s big hits, but a comprehensive look at the careers of all the members and ex-members. Lynotts unfortunate and untimely death in 1986 only serves as a sobering reminder of how important Thin Lizzy are to contemporary music today.
