FAMILY ACTIVITIES FOR SUMMER 2011

The sun is shining and in less than one month’s time school will be out for summer! With many people opting to ‘staycation’ this year rather than head abroad, do you have fun activities planned for your kids? To celebrate the launch of Off-Ice Skating, the hottest new activity for families this summer, we take a look at some of the ways to keep families occupied in the months ahead!

Off- Ice Skating
Do you love ice-skating but wish you could do it all the time? Well now there is the perfect solution! This year’s ground breaking and must-have item for Summer 2011 are Off Ice-Skates, a new type of skates which have been designed to ‘mimic’ the properties of an ice skate, but allow you to enjoy all the experiences of skating on ice on any dry, smooth, flat open space – at home, in the park, or at the gym. These would be a perfect gift for all to enjoy in the summer holidays combining fun and fitness all in one! You can find out more about Off Ice Skating on the website www.off-iceskating.com

National Sea Life Centre
Dive into the depths below and discover a whole new underwater world! With interactive games, a 4D cinema, feeding demonstrations all day and Nemo’s Kingdom plus the chance to hold some of the sea life creatures, there are so many ways for children to get involved and find out lots of fishy facts throughout the day. Based across the country in Birmingham, Blackpool, Brighton, Great Yarmouth, London, Scarborough and many more, this is an easily accessible summer holiday activity for all to enjoy!

Tower of London
Why not travel back in time and explore the historical prowess of the Tower of London? With plenty of fun and exciting things to do and see, including the Crown Jewels family trail, the fortress, the Medieval Palace and you can even witness the legendary ravens, there is definitely more to the Tower than murder and mayhem!

Science Museum, London
London’s Science Museum offers a fantastic and innovate experience to learn about the marvel of science, aimed at both children and adults. Take a look at the inspirational exhibitions and galleries where you can explore and experiment with science first hand and encounter revolutionary discoveries. The Science Museum also shows fabulous Imax films which use stunning 3D animation to bring the wonders of the world to life; learning about science has never been more fun!

Trip to the beach
A Summer holiday isn’t complete without a traditional family trip to the beach! With so many wonderful locations to choose from, including Exmouth and Weston-Super-Mare plus plenty of exciting activities to do there, such as donkey rides, crazy golf, paddling in the sea and the joys of the delicious and classic fish and chips, a trip to the beach is the perfect opportunity to spend some quality family time together.

Theme Parks
For those who love fast-paced thrills, Theme Parks such as Alton Towers, Legoland Windsor and Thorpe Park provide a thrilling family day out with some of the world’s most terrifying roller-coasters and water rides. But there’s something for everyone, including those who prefer to keep their two feet firmly on the ground with exciting live shows and scenic railway rides.
