Switzerland is a land of ravishing and beautiful landscapes, with breath-taking Alpine views, glittering lakes and stunning cities, towns and villages at every turn. There can be few more visually stunning countries to go camping in and Switzerland is a perfect destination for a family holiday.

The easiest way to get to Switzerland is by plane to either Bern, Basel or Zurich airport. A variety of airlines fly to Switzerland from the UK, including EasyJet, British Airways and Swiss. Public transport within Switzerland is excellent, with trains, trams, buses and boats covering the whole country. It’s also extremely punctual and it’s rare to encounter any delays!

Our campsites in Switzerland are in Interlaken, which is a fantastic base for exploring central Switzerland’s magnificent scenery. Surrounded by the two stunning lakes – Lake Thun and Brienz, and with the majestic Alps as a backdrop, the area is guaranteed to take your breath away with its sheer picture-postcard perfection. Families will love the wildlife parks, funiculars, museums and castles that are dotted throughout the area. You can also enjoy hiking and cycling to gorgeous waterfalls or through the foothills of the Alps.

Switzerland is also famous for its wonderful food and there’s bound to be something on the menu to appeal to all members of the family. Children will love the novelty of fondue and Swiss chocolate is amongst the best in the world. By the way, if you happen to pass a Sprüngli shop be sure to try their famous Luxemburgeli – the Swiss version of macaroons and available in every flavour you can think of.

With so much to see and do in Switzerland, staying at a campsite allows you to take full advantage of your stunning surroundings, whilst providing a relaxing base after a busy day’s exploring. Camping in Interlaken

Interlaken is a popular Swiss resort, lying between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz and surrounded by three mighty mountains – Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. The resort is probably best known for its winter skiing opportunities, with over 200km of pistes. But Interlaken is also a beautiful place to visit in the summer, with its historic paddle steamers on the lakes and miles of exquisite hiking routes.
