Join the party this Christmas in Harrow town centre
Harrow Business Improvement District (Harrow BID) is getting in the festive mood early, kicking off with the Harrow Christmas Market which will be open for business in St Anns Road from Wednesday 23rd November, running through to Sunday 27th November. Offering traditional market goods and perfect stocking fillers, visit the market from 9am – 6pm to give your Christmas shopping a boost, with extended shopping hours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. With many of our shops in the town centre also open late, you’ll be spoilt for choice!
Town centre celebrations will reach a peak with the Harrow Christmas Party on Saturday 26th November. Radio Harrow will compere performances on our stage outside the Royal Oak pub throughout the day, keeping you dancing and entertained from noon to 6pm. As well as traditional local choirs, bands and performers including local dance crew, Kidology, and Bollywood dance school, Kspark, the BID will be welcoming back our ever-popular Dhol drummers who have gone down a storm at previous events.
Alongside the stage performances, there will be a stocking full of fun for the whole family to enjoy. Keep your eyes peeled for Christmas entertainers and fun walkabout characters, some will even have free treats to give away! Kids rides and a trampoline station will also feature, as will our favourite Christmas train, back by popular demand, ready to pick little ones up for a magical journey along Station Road.
No Christmas celebration would be complete without a visit to Santa and this is no exception. Pop over to our enchanting grotto opposite Debenhams, where you’ll be greeted by Harrow’s very own elf before heading to see the man himself! Rumour has it that he’ll be bringing a big sack of gifts for all the well-behaved children in Harrow - we hope you’ve been good this year!
Last, but not least, you won’t want to miss the Christmas tree light switch on which is sure to be a spectacular conclusion to the event. The BID are delighted to be joined by the Mayor of Harrow who will have the honour of pressing the switch. A final flurry of fireworks will leave visitors with a Christmas sparkle in their eye, feeling jolly ahead of the big day.
Andy Stubbs, Chief Executive at Harrow Town Centre BID added:
“Being Harrow BID’s biggest event of the year, excitement for our Christmas party has been building in the office for months! We can’t wait to celebrate with the local community and our businesses and, of course, bring some Christmas spirit to Harrow. Our festive events celebrate the diversity of cultures in our town and we really do have something for everyone. Whether you spend the day winding your way through our market or join us for the merriment of the Harrow Christmas Party, we hope that you enjoy the fun.”
