Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife and Falconry Centre
Animal lovers will adore this venue, where you can meet a whole host of cheeky creatures including meerkats, lemurs, otters, parrots and owls. There are a host of exotic animals in the Butterfly House and you can get up close with creepy-crawlies, snakes and lizards. Enjoy the free flying birds display and make sure to follow the Dinosaur Trail with its friendly T-Rex. There’s also a playground and activity centre.
Weston Park Museum
This museum is perfect for children with lots of interactive, fun and entertaining galleries. Kids can dress up, build things and there are lots of things to see and touch. There’s a big programme of events including a regular Friday Under 5’s session. The surrounding park is small enough for kids not to get worn out in and there are ducks living in the ponds. The museum also has a café and picnic area to keep everyone fed and watered.
Magna Science Adventure Centre
The Science Adventure Centre is a hands-on experience, where kids are encouraged to get involved and learn all about science! The museum is divided into four pavilions – Air, Earth, Fire and Water, all packed with interactive exhibits and fascinating displays. You can try your hand at operating a JCB or even explode a rock face! SCI-TEK is a fantastic outdoor playground full of trampolines, rockets, castles and twisted slides whilst in summer kids will love AQUA-TEK, where you’re guaranteed to get wet!
Hatfield Outdoor Activity Centre
Based on the site of an old quarry and surrounded by beautiful woodland, this is a fantastic facility for outdoor enthusiasts. For water babies you can try your hand at canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing, dinghy sailing or even try out the oversized Family Canoe. On land there’s a host of other activities such as archery, climbing, high and low ropes and you can even try your hand at raft building. The centre also organises birthday parties.
Beautiful Boston Castle is set in the grounds of the equally stunning Boston Park and Gardens and makes for a perfect day out immersing the family in the history of South Yorkshire.
