Animazing Studio Tours & Workshops

Overview

Come and see toys, games and memorabilia from our collection of nearly 300 items from over 70 years of children's television from the very first children's television character, Muffin the Mule to the latest reboot of Thunderbirds Are Go.

Guided tours last between an hour and a half and two hours and you will get to see how a number of iconic British children's television programmes were made and get to have a go yourself.

See how classic children's TV shows were made from the earliest puppet stars of the 1940s, iconic stop-motion series from the 60s and 70s to famous drawn animation series of the 80s. See how new techniques in special effects were used in the original series of Thunderbirds in the 1960s and how Wallace & Gromit were brought to life in Plasticine.

There will be lots to do too, try your hand at puppeteering, make your own stop-motion animation and create sound effects. Perhaps you will help make a live action children's TV art programme.

Step into our green screen TV studio and you could be presenting the weather, deep-sea diving with a giant turtle, or chasing a dinosaur.

Whether you're looking for a nostalgic trip down memory lane, or a fun activity to do with the kids or grandkids, the Animazing Studio Tour is well worth a visit, and great value for money. We're open on selected dates from July to October. Tickets must be purchased online in advance.
