Preparing for Siege at Arundel Castle
28th - 29th October 2020
How did Norman knights prepare to face the ultimate test – a castle siege? Find out this October as a garrison of knights and men-at-arms train to defend Arundel Castle against the fast-approaching fearsome army of King Stephen.
Visitors will have the chance to meet the garrison and learn more about life in a Norman castle. Weapons, armour, archery and craft demonstrations will reveal how the garrison would have trained, fought and lived.
10am Castle and event opens
10-1pm Craft demonstrations in the South Passage
11am and 12pm Weapons and armour demos in the Duke Henry Courtyard
2pm Meet the garrison in the Duke Henry Courtyard
3pm Weapons, archery and combat demos American Lawn
3.30pm Event finishes
