Bishops Boats Seal Trips
BISHOP’S BOATS have been runningseal watching
trips departing from
the picturesque Blakeney
harbour and Morston quay since the early 1960’s.
This family run business has two traditional purpose built
Clinker construction wooden boats and one smaller boat.
Our boats wind their way down the creek before heading
out into sheltered waters and onto to the far end of
Blakeney Point. Without going out into the open sea,
our experienced skipper’s take you to known areas
frequented by seals. However, we ask that you
appreciate that we do not control, or attempt to
influence their natural behaviour, or
habitat, in order to see them. (However, please see our guarantee)
Here you may observe both common
and grey seals from the boats, which
are able to get close to the basking
seals near the water’s edge. Our
knowledgeable crew will tell you all about
the seals and the area. There are many
species of birds to be seen too, and a large
tern colony well established on Blakeney Point.
All trips are seal-watching trips lasting approximately 1hr and
On some seal trips when tides and conditions allow, we also
stop on Blakeney Point Nature Reserve, adding ½ to 1 hour to the trip time.
(Please note, you cannot see the seals when you land on Blakeney Point.)
The best vantage point for the seals and tern colony is from the
boats, as we are able to get quite close to the shore without
causing any disturbance to the wildlife. Special bird watching
trips may be provided in the event of a rarity arriving on Blakeney Point.
Booking ahead by telephone for all trips is always advisable, to avoid disappointment and
so we can advise you about the trip.
To reserve your places, call free on 08000 740 753 between
8am – 7pm (7 days a week). No payment for advance
bookings is required until you collect your ticket. If you need to
transfer or cancel a booking, please give at least one hours
notice. Tickets must be collected from BLAKENEY QUAY no
later than 30 minutes before sailing time. (Please allow for Norfolk roads!)
or waterproof clothing is advisable, but if you should be caught
out by an unexpected shower, we have waterproof plastic
macs available for £1. You can bring a dog, but please keep it
on a lead. For that special occasion why not charter one of our
boats for a private trip. The smaller 12 seater boat runs exclusively
from Blakeney Quay, this is very tide dependant so please call for availability
as we can often run trips on the early and late tides. (Ideal for bird watching and Photography)
Private charters are available for all of our boats for
up to 100+ people at special rates. (Discounts are also available
for groups of 12 of more for scheduled trips when booked in advance)
