Hopefield Animal Sanctuary
Hopefield is home to over 500 animals that have been abused, neglected or mis-treated. Horses, ponies, donkeys, goats, pigs, chickens, rabbits, ducks and many more who now live their life safe and free from harm.
At Hopefield our mission is to provide a safe and loving home for abused, abandoned and neglected animals.
We aim to promote humane behaviour towards animals around the world starting right here in Essex by providing appropriate care, protection, treatment, dietary needs and security for animals which are in need of care and attention because of sickness, mistreatment, abuse, poor circumstances or ill usage and to educate the public in matters of animal welfare and the prevention of cruelty and suffering among animals.
We are open to the public which is a vital part of our fundraising to enable the sanctuary to care for our resident animals and allows us to educate and encourage visitors to think about their own animals at home and in the wild.
We are currently closed for the winter and are aiming to re-open towards the end of March (dependant on the weather).
Once we have re-opened, our open hours will be as follows:
Friday to Monday 11am to 4pm
Open every day during school holidays.
