Museum of Cannock Chase
The Museum occupies the former corn store at the Valley Colliery, where the pit pony food was kept and which later became a training centre for young miners. Today it is the gateway to the Hednesford Hills Nature Reserve and the ideal starting point for a visit to Cannock Chase, a desgnated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Permanent galleries tell the social, industrial and domestic history of the area, including the story of coalmining, life on the home front during World War II and the history of toys and games. We host a changing programme of temporary exhibitions so no two visits are the same!
