Come and see hundreds of years of York’s history in one place – walk along the cobbled streets of Kirkgate, delve in to the creepy cells of York Prison, swing by the Sixties gallery and return to the front with the First World War Exhibition, 1914: When the World Changed Forever. Brand New from March 25th 2016- Shaping the Body: 400 years of fashion, food & life.

There’s something for everyone this year at York Castle Museum. Our interactive galleries hold thousands of historic objects that really bring the past to life, and our new exhibitions for 2016 promise fascinating displays and innovative new ways of learning about York’s past.

Admission: Standard - £10, Access Day Ticket*.- £5, Children under 16 go free with a paying adult (offer does not apply to organised groups). 

*Access tickets: up to 50% discount for visitors aged 17-24 or in receipt of Income-Related Employment and Support Allowance, Income–based Job seeker’s Allowance, Pension Credit or Income Support. Evidence may be required

Opening Times: Open daily 9:30am – 5pm. Closed 25-26th December and 1st January.
