Boy's Striped Straight-cut Trousers

These trousers are obvious smart occasion trousers. However, they didn't cramp Charlie's dancefloor style at all. They are quite slim-fitting but have enough give for a full range of activities. The waist is partly elasticated but we found that a belt was needed to give ongoing underwear-coverage as the day went by. The length of the crotch is generous but the trousers tended to slip down without a belt, possibly because of the slim fit and the fact that the elasticated part is quite limited. All children are slightly different, though, and Charlie is prone to needing a bit of upward motion on his trousers during the day to restore his modesty.
These trousers were age 5. Charlie is nearly 5 and normally wears age 4 trousers but these were fine length-wise and fitted well around the waist. As the legs are quite slim, you can get away with slightly longer trousers than normal as they don’t fall down over the shoe.
Being Vertbaudet, the quality and attention to detail is fantastic. There are 4 pockets plus even that little pocket at the front that no one knows the purpose of. They are 100% cotton but are pretty robust and should withstand the rigorous knee-testing that small boys put all trousers through. There are two spare buttons, one for the waist and one for the adjustable elastic inside.
Charlie found the trousers comfortable, once he’d got over the surprise of the slim fit. They looked superb. All we need now is a party or a wedding to do justice to them!
