KEEP ‘YO!’ KIDS ENTERTAINED DURING HALF TERM

Japanese Kaiten restaurant YO! Shusi rolls out sushi-making classes throughout the February break.

Evie (9), Poppy (7) and their mum Steph visited the Derby Intu center and tryed their hand as this fantastic new cooking skill.

Today we headed to Derby Intu's Yo! Sushi and tryed our hand at making our own Sushi!

Following the great success of their previous holiday classes, YO!, the Japanese street food and sushi restaurant, are relaunching their popular ‘Mini Ninja Sushi School’ for February half-term. The classes give kids the chance to be creative with food, using fun facts and characters to provide a fresh way to keep them entertained over the half term break. Today we visited the Derby Intu Shopping Centre's Yo! Sushi to try our hand at this wonderful Japanese food skill. The class started with a taser of some of the ingrediants - the girls were not overly keen on this. But I loved it!

My Mini Ninjas will be taken through three recipes during the hour-long class: Cucumber Maki, Salmon Nigiri and California rolls (with additional veggie options available).

Our A YO! chef will be on hand to help whilst kids make their own sushi, learn how to eat with chopsticks and discover a new and exciting cuisine. Our chef was good with the children and answered any questions they had.

We learnt what Shushi means, where it comes from a few other facts.

After completing the class, the girls received A Mini Ninja certificate, their very own chopsticks and a special YO! bag to take home. All the dishes made on the day can also be packaged up to take away so parents can sample their children’s sushi creations too.
