Battersea Power Station- A Fun Day out for Familie

By Sabrina , dated 18th December, 2017

Are you wondering how you can entertain the kids over the holidays? Consider visiting Battersea Power station’s Circus west village for a wonderful day out.

We recently spent a fun filled day there and there is plenty to do. As a bonus, there are activities you can drop off your children to while you enjoy a quite coffee in several of the restaurants next door, or do some Christmas shopping at the pop up Christmas market.

We started our day at Sharkey and George, where we enjoyed an hour session of making delicious Christmas treats.

They had several activities planned beginning with making edible Christmas trees out of ice cream cones, icing and LOTS of sweets,

This was followed by bubble making activities and decorating Christmas cookie jumpers.

The session was very interactive and the staff were thoroughly engaged with the children-they were not left to their own devices and the children had a great time! The cost of a session is £10 which is well worth it (plus you get to take back a generous amount of delicious treats!)

We then decided to explore the area. We encountered a giant connect 4 set where we played a few games,

Sat on Santa’s sleigh,

And had a little kiss under the giant mistletoe.

We then went to No 29 for brunch, which is one of the many eateries available at Battersea power station, Circus West village.

...before embarking on our boat. The MBNA Thames Clippers leaves Battersea Power Station every half hour on the weekends (but more frequently during the week) and is wonderful way of exploring London. The service went as far a Tower Bridge. We were treated to a great view of London’s best landmarks such as the houses of Parliament and Big Ben.

The comfortable seating and quick service, this is definitely the way to see the sites! It took under a half hour to get to Tower bridge and is a very civilized way of getting around (compared to overcrowded buses and tubes where one is lucky to get a seat.)
