Sheldon Country Farm

We visited Sheldon country park on a lovely sunny Saturday afternoon. We packed a picnic and walked the trail to the Birmingham airport viewing area. This is a great place to see big aircraft landing and taking off at close range. If like mine your kids love to see airplanes and playing in a field then this is a great day out.
After we had had enough of watching the aircraft and eating our picnic (approx 1.5 hours for us with an active 6 year old). We moved on to Sheldon Country Farm, which is free to enter. There are a few farm animals such as; chickens, goats, sheep, cows, pigs and horses. There is also a nice tea room, which serves hot foot and ice creams. We had 3 ice creams, which were a little over priced but were welcome on the hot day and we got to site in the shade in the little tea room gardens.
Overall a great few hours if your kids like plane spotting and enjoy outdoor activities such as biking, football, tennis etc... there is also a really good looking children's play area, which was really busy by the time we left. I would give this day out a 4 out of 5, just have to be aware that it can get really busy and the carpark is quite small.
