Mercian Regiment at Nottingham Castle

By Luke Tarplin, dated 11th June, 2017

The Sheerwood Foresters museum is one of the more interesting attractions at Nottingham Castle. The attraction is free to enter assuming of course you have a ticket for the castle first. There are various displays of the regiments history through different periods in history starting at the foundation of the regiment leading up to it's amalgamation into the Mercian Regiment and their tours of duty in Afghanistan.

The displays include glass cabinets with military clothing and weapons, medals, maps, pictures etc... There is an opportunity to dress up as a soldier and various interactive displays around the attraction. I would say that depending on how thoroughly you read the history it could take between 20 minutes and an hour to get through the attraction.
