Dodo Acad-Pad
The Dodo Acad-Pad diary has just been launched in its new design for 2012/13.(www.dodopad.com).
Dodo pads are family organisers which have been in production since 1966. They are innovatively designed and allow all members of the family to input their activities, write notes - or just doodle

We reviewed the Dodo Acad-Pad, Dodo's planner designed for college students, for the 2012-13 academic year.

The Dodo-Acad pad was an intriguing item for us to review. In an age where most people use mobile phones and online diaries to plan and share their important dates, appointments and notes to self and others, we wondered what the benefit of a paper diary might be.

The fact is, the Dodo Acad-Pad is fun-ctional. It offers all the benefits of a traditional academic planner - a grid calendar, each page with a week view and key international important dates helpfully added. But more than that, each page has something new - an odd fact, a bizarre sketch, a surreal tale from Lord Dodo, a classic quote, or just a bit of silly nonsense. In addition, each page has plenty of space for notes and doodling - ideal for scholarly ruminations.

At the end of every week, you can tear off the perforated corner of the page - meaning you always opening your Acad-Pad at the right week. Also there is a handy pocket at the back, useful for tucking in bits and pieces like post-its, cards,  phone numbers etc. With the Dodo Acad-Pad's bright colours and quirky illustrations, turning over a new page to see the week ahead will brighten the dreariest of Monday mornings.

We think the Dodo Acad-Pad is a lovely gift to buy your sons and daughters who are starting college or university this month. They will think of you each time they open the pages - and you can provide them with a tool to help them stay organised and on top of things even without you there to prompt them.
